Capucine Bonneterre is an artist particularly inspired by "what isn't immediately visible, what flirts with the invisible, and slips into poetry (...) a reverse side of woven labels, similar to an abstract landscape of floating threads, plays of transparency and layering, the movement of fabric on the body (...)".
This tapestry coat unfolds into a large garment pattern, woven in a single flat piece and then assembled without finishing seams, using a folding system held together by laces. The designer experiments with a new use of the gaps and relays (spaces between the warp threads during color changes, which are usually closed once the weaving is finished) to allow for the passage of the laces. The work is modular and can be worn in different ways, revealing or not revealing the reverse side of the weaving and its free threads.
The choice to use wool for the warp in this tapestry is rare in today's world, where cotton is predominant. Like ancient tapestries, the textile's structure is softened, contributing to the fluidity of the garment.
